Footnotes

  • "This print of London buses rushing down Regent Street was used by Flight for the frontispiece to his first linocut textbook of 1927. Speed and Paris Omnibus (Coppel CF 10) are technically unusual among Flight's prints in that they were printed on the reserve side of the sheet; the translucency of the fine tissue paper allowed the colours to show through to the viewing side. Impressions were then mounted on a yellow-inked paper backing."
