A rare archaistic rhinoceros horn libation cup
Late Ming Dynasty
The tall flaring cup carved in relief around the centre with three chilong clambering over the archaistic taotie mask reserved on a leiwen ground, all above a lower band carved on each side with a pair of confronted stylised dragons, the curved handle carved in high relief with two confronted chilong, all framed by a key-fret border around the rim and foot. 18.4cm (7¼in) high.
