The ogee moulded cornice over substantial bevelled glazed sides to a moulded plinth base, the 5 inch enamel Roman chapter ring set around a recessed white enamel centre with visible Brocot escapement, flanked by twin mercury thermometers with Reamur and Fahrenheit scales, the calendar dial with outer monthly scale enclosing a moonphase and subsidiary dials for days of the week and date, to the right is set a 'Metallic Barometer' with seven weather predictions, all centred by an oval signature plaque and set within a gilt brass mask engraved with elaborate foliate scrollwork, the clock movement with rectangular plates marked JBD with Brocot suspension to the three-rod bimetallic compensated pendulum, and striking on a bell 49cms (1ft 7ins) high.
