The mahogany case with caddy top and cone finials over pierced sound frets on a plinth base and scroll feet, the tall arched dial measuring 15 inches by 10.25 inches and set with a Roman and Arabic dial over subsidiaries for 'Jouer/ne pas Jouer, Jouer d'un Bout a lautre, Frappe/ne pas Frappe and Repeter/ne pas Repeter surrounding a painted mask and moonphase, (case and dial probably 19th century), the twin train early 18th century clock movement with verge escapement striking the hours and quarters on three bells and hammers via a pair of numbered countwheels flanking the copperplate signature, the base of the case set with an early 19th century musical movement with large single chain fusee drive to a 21 hammer rack keyframe, playing on thirteen bells from a ten-air pinned cylinder, actuated on the hour and repeated on demand. 66cms (2ft 2ins) high.
