1978 Porsche 911SC 3.0-Litre Targa Coupé
Chassis no. 9118311223
This left-hand drive Porsche 911SC Targa comes with a Porsche Letter of Origin states that chassis number '9118311223' was delivered to dealer Schultz in 'Ratigan' (probably Ratingen), Germany equipped with various accessories including forged alloy wheels, Bilstein dampers, left and right Sportseats, rear wiper, centre console, door-mounted stereo speakers, coloured windows and leather steering wheel. The car had been in the immediately preceding owner's hands since 1988, being used only for long-distance summertime trips, when it was sold to the current vendor at Bonhams' Harrogate Sale in November 2010 (Lot 778).
A desirable manual transmission example, the 911 benefits from a stainless steel exhaust and an engine converted to accept lead-free petrol. Restored in 2007, it received a new battery and bonnet struts in December 2010, and in May 2011 was MoT'd and serviced, the fluids and filters being changed and the brakes checked (at 160,729 kilometres). The car is finished in Guards Red with black part-leather interior and is described by the vendor as in generally good condition. Accompanying documentation consists of the aforementioned Letter of Origin, roadworthiness certificate (MoT) valid until June 2012 and UK V5C document for the registration mark 'XSO 860S'.
