A group of three netsuke
The first two of ivory and signed Hoju, the first finely carved as two dead flounders with a bamboo sprig garnish, the realistic details heightened with stain, the second depicting a hen perched on a pounding bowl for mochi, the mallet resting to one side; the third a 19th century bone toggle fashioned as a fish (wear).
