One ivory and one stag antler netsuke
19th century
The first an ivory manju netsuke with a sunken relief carving of a ronin wielding a sword and clutching the robe of his adversary, reversed by a straw hat under a pine, signed Kaihosai and sealed Doko; the second a stag antler kagamibuta netsuke, the circular copper plate decorated with seashells and a table ornament of a genre scene, executed in silver, shakudo and gold, signed Shodai[ ] Tenmin, followed by a kakihan (bowl with handling wear).
2 1/2 and 1 7/8in (5.5 and 4.8cm) diameter
