A biscuit enameled porcelain censer
Qianlong mark, Republic period
Rendered as an archaic gui with bombe-form body supporting two opposing beast-form handles (lacking cover), the sides molded with leiwen bands and freely composed abstract geometric motifs, exterior surfaces covered with a combination of brown black green and gilt enamels to simulate bronze, all supported by a slightly inset thick foot rim surrounding a small recessed base covered in a clear glaze and bearing the six-character mark in darkly hued underglaze cobalt.
