A famille rose enameled porcelain ovoid jar and cover
Tongzhi mark, Late Qing/Republic period
Its cylindrical neck and foot encircled by a leiwen band drawn in gilt also used on the domical cover and elongated ovoid body in combination with brilliantly hued enamels to paint nine five-clawed dragons and rainbow-tinted cloud scrolls on a background of waves incised to the biscuit and covered with a celadon-tinged glaze that continues across the recessed base bearing the six-character mark in iron red regular script.
