A pair of blue and white double gourd vases
Wanli marks, 19th Century
Painted on each lobe with four roundels of phoenix flying in clouds separated by floral sprays or lingzhi branches, the cylindrical neck and area between the lobes displaying flower and leaf scroll bands and a xiangcai pattern surrounding the tall foot, the deeply recessed base bearing the six-character mark written in regular script within a double ring.
