A blue and white porcelain dish with dragon decoration
Jiajing mark and period
Its curving interior walls line-incised in an anhua technique with freely drawn five-toed dragons surrounding clouds rendered as tightly curled circles while the floor displays a front-facing dragon amid similar clouds rendered in washes and outlines of brilliant underglaze cobalt blue that repeats as a continuous band around the exterior sides, the tall foot enclosing a deeply recessed base centered with the six-character mark, the clear glaze across all surfaces except the foot pad displaying a pronounced 'orange peel' effect.
