Ming dynasty
Thickly potted with a cylindrical neck above the ovoid body incised with horizontal string bands above and below a frieze of loosely drawn peony flowers and leaves growing on curving tendrils, the rich gray-green glaze displaying a dense web of faint russet-stained craze lines and covering all surfaces except the wide foot pad and portions of the recessed base burnt cinnamon-brown.
