A fine sancai glazed pottery horse
Tang Dynasty
The magnificent chestnut steed standing four-square on a rectangular base, wearing an elaborately tasseled harness, chestnut, straw and green blanket and finely worked saddle resting on his powerful back between a cream colored hogged mane and tail, the superbly modeled head with ivory markings set off by an amber colored bridle suspending green tassels.
