Two pair of black lacquered wood lantern stands

The first fashioned as caparisoned elephants standing on galleried bases, each animal wearing a saddle fitted with an ovoid vase decorated with floral reserves and key-fret patterns and fitted with a cylindrical shaft fashioned with a phoenix form end, the whole finely painted diaper patterns and floral sprays; the second formed as a hexagonal vase raised on six everted feet supporting a vertical pole ending in a chilong terminal, the whole finely painted auspicious emblems, bats, floral bands and foliate tendrils.
