A carved 'gaoshan' seal
Wanli period, dated by inscription to 1614
Of tall square form, the pale beige stone with mahogany red patches and surmounted by a lion dog biting a ribbon-tied ball, with finely rendered detail in the animals fur, the shaft incised with a Wanli cyclical date (jia yin) corresponding to 1614, second month by Wang [?], carved on the underside with a four-character seal.
