A huanghuali square-sectioned container
18th century
Carved from a single trunk section with gentle convex curve to the rim, concave upright walls meeting at cusped corners, low domical bosses carved as feet to each corner of the concave base, and a tiny raised ridge left in each upper corner on the interior, possibly meant to hold a tray that is no longer preserved.
