A Japanese-embellished agate snuff bottle
1880-1940, Tsuda Family style
The compressed ovoid body with straight mouth and foot, delicately overlaid in multi-colored lacquer, mother-of-pearl, jade and semi-precious stones with a young scholar seated at a table in front of a large screen while a meiren and attendant converse nearby, the stone a pale caramel color with matches of creamy striations.
