A carved white jade scepter
The ruyi-shaped head carved in relief depicting an elephant with a vase on its back, holding objects representing the Treasures of Buddhism, the curving handle decorated with a ribboned shou character, an archaistic vase, the double-fish symbol and the chime, the drill holes at the base threaded with a woven cotton cord tied in an elaborate endless knot and suspending two silk tassels; the stone of pale celadon tone with icy-white inclusions and a few brown patches to the underside.
