A lapis lazuli covered urn
18th/19th century
Of flattened ovoid contour tapering sharply to a pedestal base and carved in low relief to either side with four stylized bats framing a fifth in the center which suspends a ribbon-tied chime, a pair of dragon-form handles bracketing the waisted neck below a key-fret band on the rim and repeated on the conforming roof-form lid with a pierced knob finial, the bright blue matrix mottled with gold flecks and white inclusions.
