An unusual lapis lazuli conjoined double vase
Rendered as two full-shouldered vases conjoining at the sides, decorated with a wide band filled with taotie masks and abstract archaistic images carved in relief against a key-fret patterned ground, both the mouth and foot rims encircled with borders of further key-fret decoration, the conforming domed cover with raised leaf petal design surrounding two globular form finials; the large boulder dominated by deep blue with variegated stripes and scattered with numerous gold flecks.
