A partial suit of ceremonial armor for one of the eight Manchu banners
18th/19th century
Including a jacket with separately constructed collar, shoulder, underarm and front flaps and an apron cut from yellow brocade silk, each section applied with yellow metal bosses and secured to the quilted lining with border bands of darker yellow silk brocade woven in gilt-wrapped threads with shou medallions; a gilt and silvered metal circular plate bordered with a band of reticulated dragons and clouds also attaching across the center front opening of the jacket.
