A Manchu noblewoman's embroidered black gauze summer surcoat, longgua
Late 19th century
The coat constructed with a center opening and intricately embroidered with two front-facing and six side-facing dragon roundels worked with couched gilt threads and polychrome counted stitches that repeat in the tall lishui border and the sleeve bands.
