Two elaborately pieced silk woman's skirts, qun
Late Qing/Republic period
The first embroidered with female immortals and attendants in garden settings on the principal yellow and purple ground panels attached to multicolored thin strips displaying bats and flowers, the designs worked in brightly colored and gilt-wrapped threads; the second skirt of scarlet brocade with bright blue satin borders and stitched-down streamers in multicolored silk, the borders and principal panels applied with embroidered ivory satin appliques.
