A woman's elaborately embroidered black silk gauze summer coat
Late Qing dynasty
The center front opening outlined with two applied bands of floral embroidery worked in a brilliant sapphire blue that also form ruyi lappets at the side flaps; the bright blue brocade silk sleeve bands embroidered in intricately worked satin stitch to produce brilliantly plumaged birds alighting on flower and fruit sprays in couched gilt threads.
