An official's black silk gauze summer coat with embroidered square of the second civil rank, pufu
Late Qing dynasty
Constructed with a center front opening, the front and back displaying a rank badge with a golden pheasant worked in satin stitch using fine silver and gilt-wrapped threads that also appear in combination with the blue counted-stitch clouds and tiny coral colored beads forming the sun.
