A River Phoenix screen worn jacket from My Own Private Idaho
Fine Line, 1991. A red cotton canvas jacket with tan interior and a red and yellow "4" patch on the upper left arm. Worn by Phoenix throughout the film in his role as Mike, a street hustler. Phoenix's performance in the film was widely acclaimed, winning the Volpi Cup for Best Actor from the Venice Film Festival, as well as an Independent Spirit Award. The jacket is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Laurie Parker, the producer of My Own Private Idaho.
