A pair of Ben-Hur production designs
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1959. Pencil and gouache on illustration board. The first, an elevation of a Roman cell and corridor, the second, a plan for Messala's villa. Ben-Hur's sets were the largest built for any film at the time, and the film won the 1960 Academy Award® for Best Art Direction (Color).
