A Sammy Davis Jr. tweed suit
A long tan tweed Nehru-style jacket and matching pants. A label in the jacket reads, "Designed Expressly for Sammy Davis Jr. by Sy Devore Hollywood," dated 1968. Sy Devore was the premier Hollywood tailor of the '50s and '60s, with a client list that included Bing Crosby, John Wayne, Tony Curtis, and Milton Berle, and Elvis. It was also the subject of Bob Hope's famous wisecrack, "In a very good year I have my choice between a Rolls-Royce, a new house in Beverly Hills or a suit from Sy Devore."
