A wicker chair from Rick's Café in Casablanca
Warner Bros., 1942. The bamboo chair with a figure eight braid on the back of the woven top and a leather seat; used in the legendary film Casablanca, released 70 years ago this November. The American Film Institute voted Casablanca the number one greatest romantic film of the last 100 years, and number three of the best 100 films. Nominated for eight ©Oscars®, Casablanca won three, and is a Library of Congress National Film Registry Selection. Another cane chair from Rick's Café fetched $13,200 in 2007.
