Mimetite
Botryoidal Mimetite on Matrix
San Pedros Corralitos, Chihuahua, Mexico
In July of 1969 an isolated pocket of this rare type of mimetite was discovered which displays a botryoidal habit—a form completely uncharacteristic for the species. Specimens of this type seen today originate from that find, however few have as intense a yellow color as this one where the bright spherules contrast dramatically against the brown matrix. Individual spherules range to about 6.0mm across. Measures 2 x 2 1/2 x 2in
Sold for US$ 2,125 inc. premium
