Named for Adolph Hübner a German mining engineer from Freiberg, Germany, hübernite is a manganese-rich mineral. It is related to ferberite and wolframite but is considered to be more valuable. In this elegant cabinet specimen brilliant red sprays of prismatic hübnerite crystals, with its beautiful metallic luster, are intergrown with small milky white quartz crystals.
