Multi-gemstone Carving of a Bellflower
By Paul Dreher
Idar-Oberstein, Germnay
A variety of bellflowers can typically be found in Northern European woodland areas. In this lapidary version the flowers are formed of dyed red chalcedony. The pistils are set with single-cut diamonds the 18K yellow gold stem decorated with nephrite leaves emerging from a clear, polished rock crystal vase, which gives the illusion of water in a glass. Height 9in.
