Bachelor's buttons are a wildflower seen in European meadows and fields, typically intermingled with wheat and red poppies. In this flower-study, the delicate flowerheads are carved of blue chalcedony, centering on a carved nephrite pistil, four Russian nephrite leaves grace the 18K yellow gold stem which emerges from a fluted rock crystal vase, the interior of which is constructed to give the illusion of water in the vase.
