Pair of Carved Emerald Birds on Smoky Quartz with Obsidian and Gold Bases

Probably carved in the 1970s, very fine emerald rough, possibly originating in Russia, has been used to depict two birds. Each bird is perched on a translucent smoky quartz stylized tree branch, the eyes decorated with small brilliant-cut diamonds, the black obsidian bases are rimmed with 18K yellow gold. Height of each 4in The weight of the emeralds is as follows: the cockatoo: approximately 156.0 carats; the falcon, approximately 135.50 carats. (2)
