Burmese Jade Fish
Gem Silica Fish Carving
By Ronald Stevens
Inspired by the druzy quartz vug at its center, an underwater theme is evoked through the use of gem quality chrysocolla. The opaque portions are carved with scenes of swimming fish, an octopus and starfish, the translucent sections depict seahorses and bubbles. A stripe of chatoyant malachite can be seen on the reverse which suggests a forest of kelp. Measures 3 1/4 x 2 3/4 x 1 3/4in
