While all mollusks are capable of producing calcareous concretions few ever come to market as offerings to private collectors. The present concretion is a natural history curiosity: an off-round brown, non-nacreous pearl from the Striped Fox Horse Conch, weighing approximately 1.93 carats (0.3 grams) and measuring 6.9 x 6.2mm, undrilled; together with a knobbed, spiraled tapered mollusk known as the Striped Fox Horse Conch, Pleuroploca trapezium, length 8in. (2)
