Rare CerrusiteA Member of the 100 Carats Club
Tsumeb, Namibia
A rare stone for the collector due to its large size, unusual smoky color, and excellent luster. The present gem example of cerrussite is a desireable one. Cerussite is a white lead ore with a hardness of 3.5 available in various colorsthis darker brown hue is rarer than the colorless versions often seen. It has a very high luster due, primarily, to its lead contentjust as leaded crystal glass sparkles more brilliantly because of its lead content, so too does cerussite. Expertly faceted as a modified Barion-cut, the dispersive properties of this rare mineral are apparent in this beautiful stone.
