2 volumes. 4to. Half-titles. 50 plates, captioned tissue guards. Original half-pigskin and beige boards, dust jackets. Light foxing to endpapers and occasionally to margins, spines slightly darkened at ends and near joint of upper board vol 1, minor wear to spine ends vol 1, spines of dust jackets slightly darkened with some light chipping at ends, light tanning to panels at margins, overall an excellent copy.
Provenance: the collection of Margie and Robert E. Petersen.

SIGNED LIMITED EDITION IN SCARCE ORIGINAL DUST JACKETS, no 424 of 500 copies signed by Theodore Roosevelt on the limitation page.
WITH: Typed Letter Signed ("Theodore Roosevelt") with holograph addition and correction, 1 p, 8vo, Washington, 1904, on White House stationery, to Joseph Darlington, apologizing for missing an appointment.
