SCHULZ, CHARLES.
SCHULZ, CHARLES.
Original 3-tiered Sunday Peanuts strip, ink on stiff paper, 17 x 23¾ inches, signed ("Schulz") in final panel, dated June 23 [1963], light even toning, 1/2 inch closed tear to bottom margin, creasing and closed tears to Peanuts logo pastedown, offsetting to verso from adhesive residue with faint bleed-through; still fine and crisp.

Charlie Brown, Schroeder and Lucy engage in characteristic pitcher's mound byplay in this relatively early baseball-themed Sunday strip. Accompanied by two typewritten letters signed by Schulz, dated July and August 1963, in which Schulz presents this original art to a collector, consents to the sale of other Peanuts art to raise funds for the La Jolla Little League, and expresses his approval of Little League baseball in general.
