Oblong folio (442 x 567 mm). 20 hand-colored aquatint, color-printed mezzotint, stipple engraved, and soft ground etched plates, and engraved illustrations in the text. Modern half calf, period gilt-lettered morocco label to upper cover. Generally internally clean, light shelfwear to binding.
SECOND EDITION, of which the first is rarely seen. An unusual variety of printing processes were used to produce this retrospective of one of the great late 18th century English painters, whose extravagant life style and woeful health somewhat overshadowed his talent. Abbey Life 208.
