Full scarlet morocco, raised bands, gilt spine titles and equestrian devices within panels, gilt horse-head devices within gilt rule at corners of covers, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Faint dampstain extending approx. 3-5 cm from upper and fore-margins of most leaves, light rubbing to joints and corners, faint staining to upper cover.

The renowned American sportsman Harry Worcester Smith (1865-1945) was Master of the Westmeath Foxhounds and a founder of the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America.
