BEARD, PETER. B. 1938.
5 photographs, one color and 4 black and white, various sizes (2 1/2 x 4 to 5 x 7 inches), views in Africa, three images laid down on cards and addtiionally inscribed by Beard; together with 2 copies of a 1977 doubled sided poster of Beard's artwork, one copy signed, and an autograph address label sent from Africa to a friend at Warner Bros Records, some wear and adhesive remnants to pictures.
Color photo is of Beard with a baby elephant; photo of Cheryl Tiegs with baby antelope is inscribed "C.T. & friend (ABC special)"; a photo of a giraffe is inscribed "view from my gonking mat @ 'Hog Ranch'"; and a portrait of an elderly man is inscribed "Kigathi son of Kinyanjui of the Wa-Kikuya." The heavy adhesive remnants on the reverse of these pictures suggest that they were once part of Beard's diary, but were removed to send to his friend.
