THE LARGEST REGIONAL MAP DEPICTING CALIFORNIA AS AN ISLAND. The map provides great detail along the west coast of Mexico extending into the present day southwestern US, and along the southern tip of the island of California, naming over 350 towns and villages in all. De Fer based many of his details on the observations of Father Kino. The inset text gives a history of California to 1695. McLaughlin 196; Tooley 83.
