Provenance: modern ownership inscription and some marginalia in Russian.
FIRST EDITION. The first account of the Billings expedition, sent out by the Russians to the north Pacific, on which Sauer travelled as secretary. The appendix includes vocabularies of the Yukagir, Yakut, and Tungus languages.
