SECOND EDITION IN ENGLISH. Two editions appeared in 1698, this is the so-called "Tonson" edition (with the first line of the printers on the title-page ending in "Tonson"). The second part (with its own title page) is A continuation of the New Discovery.... Hennepin journeyed with la Salle as company chaplain to the area of the Great Lakes and Illinois; his is the first published account of the region.
