Property from the Estate of Charles and Eleanor de Limur, San Francisco. Items from the collection the de Limur's started two generations ago. Most were acquired during the de Limur's long tenure living in Paris at the Palais Royale in the 1960's.
Two Dutch engraved brass tobacco boxes
18th century
The first with cover with three roundels enclosing half length portraits of gentlemen, the reverse with roundel enclosing two women flanking a tree, length 6 5/8in; the second decorated on cover and reverse with colonnaded arcade of figures, length 6 3/8in.
