Property from the Estate of Charles and Eleanor de Limur, San Francisco. Items from the collection the de Limur's started two generations ago. Most were acquired during the de Limur's long tenure living in Paris at the Palais Royale in the 1960's.
An assembled grouping of four enamel or ceramic metal mounted snuff boxes
19th/20th century
Each decorated in the 18th century style; the first porcelain of shaped outline the cover depicting two figures in combat, length 2 1/4in; second enamel of shaped outline depicting two doves with banner inscribed A MANS FIDELLE, length 2 1/8in; third enamel of circular form with sepia landscape, diameter 1 3/8in; the fourth faience of hexagonal form decorated bouquet of flowers, greatest width 2 1/4in.
