COMPLETE SET OF THE 20 SHILLING SERIES OF COLOR PLATE BOOKS, MOST FIRST EDITIONS. Including first editions of The Lake of Geneva by Gribble, and Japan: A Record in Colour by Mortimer Menpes, the latter with a 2 page Autograph Letter Signed by Menpes laid in. Taking advantage of a new three-color printing process, A & C Black released hundreds of color plate books between the years 1900 and 1930, including the 92 titles in the 20 shilling series. Comprised mainly of travel books, the 20s series offered at an affordable price finely made books with large numbers of color plates to the general reading public. The present collection includes all 92 titles in the series, an additional copy each of Menpes' Japan and London by Moncrieff (later printings), and Inman's bibliography The A&C Black Colour Books.
