Ryuku Islands, 18th/19th century
Each of rectangular shape with the lid and four sides of the first five tiers decorated in gold hiramakie with a flowering prunus tree within a shaped panel framed in mother-of-pearl and reserved on a ground of seigaiha in red lacquer and further aogai inlay, the slightly recessed lid and vertical edge bands accented with aogai okigai.
