An elaborately carved hongmu side table
Late Qing/Republic period
The top constructed with a single floating panel surrounded by framing members finished on the edges with a leiwen meander pattern that repeats below the frieze of lotus flower and leaf scrolls filling the aprons that descend to each side of the uprights, themselves carved with bat and fish pendants joined by tasseled ropes, the legs supported on transverse feet and the short sides framed with reeded spandrels.
